TOUCH HEALING = EMPOWERMENT

I have been doing a lot of thinking lately about what it is that has me so excited about Touch.   This beautiful system of lightly touching the body at specific points to promote healing has marvelous effects on both practitioner and recipient.  It really has me, a practitioner, hooked.  I just want to touch everyone.  I want to heal everyone!  That’s it and that’s not it.  What is it?

Recently during my quiet time, my thoughts returned to the story in the Bible about a lame man that Jesus encountered.  He touched the man and commanded, “Take up your pallet and walk!”  I remember this statement, because it is so clear, direct and without qualifications of any kind.  But what does this mean to me?

At that moment the answer flooded into my consciousness:  “ You’re empowered!  You’ve been touched!  Get up!  Go and Touch others! You’re empowered”!  Wow!  That’s it!  I have been empowered!  I couldn’t get this out of my mind.

There is more.  While continuing to think through this over the next few days, I remembered another Bible story.  In this one, Paul encounters a lame beggar who was asking him for money.  Paul said to him, “I have no money, but what Jesus gave to me, I give to you.”  He touched the man and said, “Get up and walk!”  There it is again.  “Get up and go; you are empowered!”  What is going on?  Is there a connection here I should have seen years ago?  Am I not to follow these examples?

I am struck by the profundity of it.  Now I know why I want to Just Touch people.  My head is still spinning from the realization that my encounter with Touch is confirmation of my empowerment.  It is so simple and it feels like Truth.  It is the miracle of one human touching another in love!  The world has yet to know the power of this kind of touch.

As a follower of Jesus I had long been troubled by the lack of power in my own life to follow his exemplary challenges to live with power. Jesus was a healer and a motivating teacher.  I am empowered to do the same.  Now I can put it into practice with Touch.

I came to Touch to learn more about myself and learn how to help others heal.  I did not come looking for relief from physical disease.  Some find this strange, but I think that there is more to healing than correcting a physical manifestation of disease.  So maybe I am here to learn that I can go beyond my perceived limitations and that of itself is a kind of healing.

The application I see for myself is to claim the empowerment that is clearly given.  What I have been sensing is the power of the Spirit moving within me.  I intend to use Touch as my conduit to heal and teach others to wake up!.  I will touch as many as possible.  I will offer to teach them to do the same.  If they don’t “get it” I will come back and offer to Touch them again.

I AM EMPOWERED!
